THE ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL MARTIAL ARTISTS (APMA) ST. LUCIA

MOTTO: "MARTIAL ARTS FOREVER, CRIME & DRUGS NEVER"

"THE RACE IS NOT FOR THE SWIFT"

APMA FOUNDERS IMAC        CHAIRMAN CHITOLIE

The Association of Professional Martial Artists (APMA) was formed on the 27th of November 2004 and the launching took place on 23rd January 2005 at the Bay Gardens Resort. Present were the members and special invited guest, Mrs. Fortuna Belrose, Claudius Francis and Joseph "Reds" Pererra. There the founder and chairman, Sensei Benny Chitolie, addressed the gathering.

"It is with great pleasure that I address you this evening, as we formally launch the Association of Professional Martial Artists. We have finally approached the crossroads of the future of the martial arts in St. Lucia, and as true martial artists, dedicated to the development of the sport in the best interest of our number one object...using the martial arts as a compass to steer our children away from a life of crime, drugs, indiscipline and provide them with an alternative to prepare them to be St. Lucians ready to carry on the baton which will one day leave them.

This association is blessed to be a son of the International Martial Arts Council of America and we are deeply grateful to Professor Marty Cale, Dr. Dan Netherland and Bill "Superfoot" Wallace. These honorary gentlemen have exhibited a remarkable level of faith and confidence in us, individuals whom they never met, in a land which they never knew existed.

Professor Marty Cale, Dr. Dan Netherland, and Grandmaster Wallace, on behalf of the founding members of APMA, I thank you for your faith in us and we wish to tell you that we will shoulder the challenges of representing the objects and standards of IMAC in St. Lucia, and we shall strive to remain loyal and dedicated to Imac as we partner in facing the uncertainities of the future.

To the founding members I bestow on you the trials of the development and continuance of APMA. I challenge you and remind that it is your duty to ensure that you stand and defend APMA against all adversaries, that individually you accept the mantle of doing what it takes and going the extra mile if necessary to ensure that we stay and grow together as founding members.

MEMBERS

There is a faithful saying "THAT THE STRONGEST ARE THOSE WHO RENOUNCE THEIR OWN TIMES AND BECOME A LIVING PART OF THOSE YET TO COME". I challenge you to forget the past and strive to pave the road ahead for our development in the best interest of our nation, particularly our children. Let us support each other, let us become each others keeper and let us defend each other for the future of APMA depends on that. Let us defend our constitution and be guided by its concepts.

To the members of the media we beg and seek your support. We are unable to do it without you and we look forward to your assistance and cooperation as we grow and develop this organization.

To the members of the Ministry of Youth Development & Sports we urge you to take the rightful stance in partnering with us as we accept the challenges ahead".

 APMA MISSION STATEMENT & MOTTO

We the Founders of the Association of Professional Martial Artists also known as APMA, in order to provide for ourselves discipline, honor and development, to act as a body in the pursuit of mental, physical and spiritual strength and generally to protect our interest, have organized ourselves into a non-profit making, local, non governmental organization of unlimited duration in the form of an association endowed with a judicial personality. The Association of Professional Martial Artists in its quest for martial arts development, international recognition and in an effort to combat the continuing escalade of crime and violence amongst the youth in St. Lucia have joined forces with Foreign Bodies such as IMAC, WUKO, and NAFMA.

The association members will be selected without regard to race, color, sex, religion, or national origin. We do thereby establish these regulations to govern us and to form the constitution of the Association of Professional Martial Artists and shall remain free from political restraints.

The Mission Statement of the Association shall be "To exist and operate as a legal non-profit making organization committed to the development of martial arts to international standards, by developing and assisting its founders and members, through various programs, with the objective of creating a better society for ourselves especially the youth".

MOTTO: To this end the motto of APMA shall be "Martial Arts Forever, Crime and Drugs Never"
